Ugo Vallauri

Ugo Vallauri is the Technical Research & Development Officer for Computer Aid International. His main research interests are connectivity in rural areas, low-power computing solutions and adaptive technology applications. Before joining Computer Aid, Ugo worked in the not-for-profit sector developing appropriate technologies and communication practices for sustainable agriculture projects in the developing world for Slow Food International. He has also consulted for a United Nations ICT project and has been involved in various new media and independent journalism projects. In September 2007 Ugo joined the ICT4D Collective at Royal Holloway University of London as a PhD student researching the role of ICT in grass-roots rural development in East Africa.
